22Millions of wonderful, caring, compassionate individuals suffer from some kind of mental illness in this country.
I happen to be one of them. I have anxiety and depression and I’m here to share my story with others so that they, too, feel they are not alone. I recently went public with my illness and although it was a difficult thing to do, I found it very necessary . You see, I lost my job at the end of 2014. I was a flight attendant for a major airline for almost 21 years. For the first time in my career, I let my personal struggles interfere with my work environment. Because I didn’t seek the necessary assistance through the programs they offer, i was let go. It was to say the least, devastating.
Although it is difficult to talk about, I feel an obligation to the public to discuss it as openly and as honestly as I know how. I hope that by sharing my story, it will help others feel that they are not alone.
The most profound impact I have recently discovered is how debilitating it is on the human soul. I have made wellness adjustments in my life and have decided to share my life-long journey and to help others. I believe this is the formula to life free of the darkness. Connect with Kathy
